The University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA), which serves and engages more than 477,000 graduates, has a vested interest in ensuring that the University’s governing body, the Board of Regents, is comprised of highly qualified, mission-driven leaders who are committed to the long-term success of our world-class University.
On April 25, 2018, the UMAA was pleased to host a Regent Candidate Forum on behalf of the State Legislature. Participants in this forum included the five Regent candidates vying for the First Congressional District position on the Board of Regents. Below, is an audio recording of the 2018 Regent Candidate Forum moderated by Jim du Bois ’87.
Next, a joint meeting of the Senate and House Higher Education committees will convene on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. in Room 10 of the Minnesota State Office Building. At the joint committee meeting, legislators may choose to nominate a University of Minnesota Regent for the First Congressional District to the Joint Convention (Date TBD) of the Legislature.
