MINNEAPOLIS, MN (11/14/16) The University of Minnesota Alumni Association’s quarterly magazine, Minnesota Alumni, received five awards for excellence from the Minnesota Magazine & Publishing Association (MMPA) at its 20th Annual Excellence Awards Gala on 11/10/16.
The Excellence Awards recognize and foster outstanding publishing achievements. Competition categories include editorial, design, marketing, digital publishing and overall excellence. The Alumni Association received the following awards:
Category: Editor’s or Publisher’s Editorial or Letter to the Reader
Awarded to editor Cynthia Scott for her letter: “Thoughts of an Area Woman.”
Category: Overall Excellence
Category: Cover Design Awarded for the Spring 2016 issue
Category: Editorial Awarded for profile article: “The Task at Hand.”
Category: Feature Design Awarded for feature: “Grub. Chow. Sustenance.”
“We are thrilled that Minnesota Alumni has been recognized by the magazine publishing industry,” said Alumni Association President and CEO Lisa Lewis. “Being awarded for excellence is particularly meaningful to the Alumni Association, because our goal is to provide the highest quality services, products and events to our alumni.”
