Dr. Robert Vince obtained his doctoral degree in medicinal chemistry in 1966 from the College of Pharmacy at SUNY Buffalo. In 1967 he joined the medicinal chemistry faculty at the University of Minnesota. He is presently Director of the Center for Drug Design in the Academic Health Center at the U of M. His invention, the HIV drug, abacavir, was commercialized by GSK and has resulted in the generation of revenue more than $600 million for the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Robert Vince will discuss the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Also, we will talk about the HIV drug he invented.
