TIME LISTED IN CDT
Cookie Cart provides teens 15-18 years old with lasting and meaningful work, life and leadership skills through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery.
Volunteers will be working side-by-side with youth employees to scoop fresh dough, hand decorate cookies, and assemble bakery boxes. Assisting with cookie production gives volunteers the opportunity to talk with teens and share about their career path.
Cookie Cart is located between Fremont and Emerson on West Broadway Ave. There is free public parking in a lot directly behind the building as well as on Broadway and Fremont.
Upon arrival, volunteers will check in at Cookie Cart’s lobby where they will sign in, get nametags and meet bakery staff who will take the volunteers on a tour before they get started in the bakery.
What to Wear
Volunteers are asked to dress for comfort since they will be on their feet while working in the bakery. Must wear close-toed shoes. Some jewelry may need to be removed. There is storage on site to lock up belongings; cell phones are not allowed in the kitchen. Cookie Cart will provide aprons, hairnets, and rubber gloves.
Volunteers must be 18 years+.
Please be prepared to talk about your career path. Mentoring is a key role for this volunteer opportunity.
