The Center for Sustainable Building Research is offering a training session on Design for Daylight Performance
. The daylight requirements in the new Version 3.1 of the B3 Guidelines permit several metrics to be used to document compliance, these metrics and methods of meeting the guidelines will be reviewed in this session.

This session will introduce new daylighting requirements and provide an overview of new metrics used in version 3.1 of the B3 Guidelines. The session will include an overview of the new and updated guidelines, a walkthrough of the process for determination of ‘regularly occupied spaces’, and a demonstration of designing to meet daylight and glare control requirements.
Upon completion, each participant will:
- Understand the daylighting requirements of version 3.1 of the B3 Guidelines.
- Understand the daylight metrics used in the guidelines
- Understand the general process of creating and interpreting daylighting metrics
- Understand the process of developing a design in response to daylight metrics
